For me personally, OSRS's market is the finest in this genre. Every gathering skill has a skill thats uses said accumulated substances as a golden sink, i.e woodcutting/ firemaking& fletching, fishing/cooking, etc.. With participant trading in addition to this Grand exchange, the economy functions as closely a game could get and remains stable. Only the super wealthy and elite can control the economy with OSRS gold, kinda like real life lol.I appreciate that rs has the GE that monitors the purchase price of any item, has historical chart information on the market, does not have any trading charges, and is generally very hands off on pricing of items. It feels as an in sport stock market. I guess"player run market" doesn't fully explain what I mean, but I believe RS does have a unique approach.
I truly don't know the point of the dialog. I never said supply and demand do not exist in other games, or that games don't have a player run economy. The only thing I had been attempting to make is I like RS's implementation of the rs economy and the GE. It has clicked more than other games, and it happened to be the one that motivated me to start looking in that sort of stuff. That's it. What you are saying simply isn't true either. The G.E differs than most auction houses in MMOs and you will find MMOs that lack a ge/auction house, or player trading entirely. Many MMOs utilize an auction house very similar to wow. In WoW, when you buy a pile of items from the auction house or an item, every list is an item/items that are listed by 1 player and one participant only. So if you wished to buy 1000 of a substance, you have to purchase multiple piles from individuals that will be a different cost. In RS, if you wanted to buy 1000 of something, you simply add a bid, and you get said materials whenever you are either the bidder or there is excess of said item to be sold to multiple buyers.
A big one would be high alching.
