Airport transfers: The best connected airports in Europe revealed - how did the UK do?
Airports that are well connected make holidays both much easier and cheaper.Travel metasearch engine GoEuro has analysed 70 airports in Europe to rank the fastest and cheapest transfers to the centre of the city.They have highlighted the best connected airports and cities on the continent according to GoEuro's 2017 prices and times.
"City centre transfer fares for the airports we looked at range from 64p to £25 travelling by either bus or train," Chris Hall, Country Manager, UK and Ireland at GoEuro told Express.co.uk. "Journey times vary from five to 85 minutes across Europe.airport transfer online
"Lanzarote and Malaga are the top choices for those wanting to maximise their time on holiday and not waste any money travelling from the airport to the beach, as transfers start from less than £2, when travelling by IntercityBus in Lanzarote and Cercanías Renfe train in Malaga."
Nice Côte d'Azur was revealed as the most convenient airport in Europe, with a transfer time of just five minutes by train and costing £1.59.In second place was Lanzarote with a 10 minute transfer from £1.24 by bus.
In good news for the UK, Birmingham came in third place in the rankings, with a nine minute transfer from £2.90 by train.Unfortunately, such good connectivity was not seen throughout Britain. "It won't be a surprise to Londoners, but Gatwick ranked as one of the least convenient airports, based on journey length and price, with a half hour transfer costing nearly £20 by train," said Chris.
