In 2017, New Air Jordan Shoes will roll out new looks for some of its classics. Here we see the Air Jordan 6 "Alternate". The Air Jordan 6 Alternate extends Jordan Brand's "Alternate" color theme with the Air Jordan 6 silhouette. This colorway is a PE that MJ himself may have rocked back in the day, according to HYPEBEAST. It essentially reworks the 1991 "Maroon" colorway of the AJ6, which sports maroon accenting alongside a white and grey upper. "1991" embroidery also appears on the inside of the tongue. This Air Jordan 6 plays on the Chicago Bulls colors having a White, Pure Platinum and Gym Red color scheme. Similar to the "Alternate" Air Jordan 4, this one is a nod to what MJ would've worn during his 1991 playoff run. They’re almost like a hybrid between the "Maroon" Air Jordan 6 and "Hare" Air Jordan 7 releases. Featuring a White perforated leather upper with Pure Platinum detailing and Gym Red accents on the lining, lace look and tongue. Completing the shoe is the year "1991" on the tongue and translucent soles.
The Air Jordan 6 is one of Jordans 2017 more iconic retro models given the fact that it was the pair that MJ won his first championship. The Infrared colorways remain to be some of the most recognizable in the Jumpman catalog, but it's also nice to see Jordan Brand experiment with the model like with the upcoming "Black Cat" colorway with additional 3M touches, micro-perforations, and more. This collection is a representation of an "alternate" colorway that Michael Jordan would have worn on the court grounded by the his famed red and white color schemes. The Air Jordan 6 Alternate features a White and Pure Platinum upper with vibrant Gym Red accents that provide a nice pop. A stitched "1991" has been added on the inside of the tongue that corresponds to the year MJ wore the respective style on court. Much like the Air Jordan 4 "Alternate" that released not too long ago, this pair features an alternate colorway construction featuring White, Pure Platinum accents, and a Gym Red finish for a decidedly different take on the classic "Chicago" theme. "1991" stitching hits the inner tongue while Jordan Brand decided to skip over the additional icy blue tint on the outsole much like they did for the Air Jordan 6 Maroon.
New Jordans 2016, This forthcoming iteration of the Air Jordan 6 is reminiscent of last year's Maroon finish, which was previously suggested to be a Hare-inspired colorway. Although, it's actually an extension of Jordan Brand's "Alternate" color scheme for 2017. The Air Jordan 8 isn't the only classic Jordan silhouette to be getting an "Alternate" look for 2017. Joining the kicks next year is a corresponding rendition of the Air Jordan 6. Hot on the heels of this winter's "Black Cat" drop, the "Alternate" take on the 6 — which first surfaced a few months back — is essentially a newly designed PE that MJ himself may have rocked back in the day. Reworking 1991′s AJ6 "Maroon", the design couples reddish accents with a white and grey upper while "1991" embroidery appears on the inside of the tongue. This variation is also suggested to be the pair that MJ would’ve donned during the 1991 Playoffs, as the year "1991" is prominent on the tongues. Finally, a translucent outsole rounds out the clean design profile. Essentially paying tribute to the Chicago Bulls' theme with white, pure platinum and gym red accents covering its entire upper — the basketball sneaker is comprised of premium perforated leather and nubuck underlays.
